NZSL as a Health Right

On May 4th 2019 Deaf Action handed a petition to the House of Representatives to update the Health Act and the relevant health legislation to make it a statutory requirement for all public health information and alerts to be in the official languages of NZ.

In June 2019, we presented to the Health Select Committee our submission covering the need of official languages accessibility for Deaf and Hard of Hearing access to Health information in NZ.
